The Unexpected

...I feel really lucky
I really appreciate everything that has happened to me
I cannot thank anyone enough, I cannot express my love enough for them
I really hope they see how appreciative of them I am, that they are not wasting time on me...

I Love You All.

Today started every ordinarily, with my usual late awakening, cardio workout session. Then Belle, Cass and I decided to make our random idea come true- to go shopping together at Joondalup Lakeside Shopping Centre. It is the most humongous shopping centre I've ever seen in Perth, and we were all very excited. After some good salad at the food court, we walked around for about 3 hours, visiting random stores and having fun. We even went to a kid's section and played with toys that made noises. Teehee. SO MUCH FUN. They also each bought Grace a birthday present- a feathered, sexy, see through thong and a shiny bow tie to match. Topless party, who's up for it!? Hahaha... personal joke, it was well appreciated.

And then we stumbled across Diva. Just simply browsing around, trying to suss out what jewellery I could buy for a cheaper price when I'm in Malaysia, I came to notice this

Is that not the coolest friendship ring ever?! It is really special- it was part of a 3 ring series. Mine says "Best", Cass's says "Friends", Belle's says "Forever"! Cliched BFF, but who can resist this?!?!? It was the coolest 3 ring BFF series I've ever seen, so I had to buy it. We each now have a token to commemorate our friendship, it is just tooooooo exciting. I felt loved.

After dance training, I came home and did my usual relaxing, "my time" stuff. Then I talked to my mum online, and she dropped the bomb- OUR FAMILY IS GOING TO TAIWAN FOR A 7 DAY TOUR!!!

OH MY GOD

Epic bliss. Epic happiness. Epic excitement. Epic Pass. Epic fortune. Epic luckiness.

An ordinary day turned one of the happiest days of my year.
Sometimes I wished so hard that something awesome would happen to me, or that I can meet someone awesome, or that just something awesome would come into my life...
I am sure now, that everything has its time and place, and that just letting everything be is probably the way to go for most things.

Just Let It Be.

Totally inspired and over the moon, I don't think I can get much sleep tonight. Teehee. I'm one lucky girl.

Lazy Sunday

Summary of today: Tiredness and Fatigue.

I think it started with yesterday. Everything just piled on and accelerated to an unbearable level. Rode to Belle's house yesterday, took about 40 minutes each way. Rode in the hot, HOT sunlight, but luckily there is the invention of sunscreen, so everything turned out fine. Though I am about 10 shades darker than I was yesterday. Teehee. In all the wrong places. Right, but wrong. As in, now I have a prominent sock, shorts and boob tube tan. Great.

Anyway, had lots of fun riding. I've forgotten that feeling. Everything came back to me- this is why I rode so much when I was in primary school, it is so unbelievably enjoyable and relaxing... so good to the point that it is hard to put into words. Amazing.

After yesterday's awesome ordeal, I woke up feeling really tired today. I cleaned up the house as usual, but I did some extra things to get ready for our departure of the country. Leaving this Friday to see my parents in Malaysia, so decided to make everything somewhat more habitable for when I return, the house would not be utterly disgusting. Yes, slightly OCD. Can't help it. Born with it. Quality? Though tired, I guess I handled the cleaning quite well. The heat is definitely getting to me though. Irritable. Annoyed. Air con. Life saver.

Post Christmas fat is also piling on. Disgusting. Unhappy. Annoying as well. GAH. Need to save stomach for good food in Malaysia! At this rate, I'll be contributing to the climbing obesity rate in Australia. Yeah.

Xmas and Boxing Days

Christmas was AWESOME.

Boxing day was relaxing... slightly boring.

The Christmas Party held at Belle's was the best ever!!! So our childhood fantasy came true with a tea party with "friends"- genuine picnic basket, tea cups and spoons, sandwiches, fairy bread... oh, yesterday was THE BOMB! Though we were constantly attacked by ants trying to get a share of our Xmas feast, the day was too good to be true.
Other than the eating and chatting, we also did some random dances and scaring little children riding past (I did the scaring... actually). I was totally high after eating, so I was just jumping around the park looking spastic. Oh, all part of the fun!

After the awesome tea party, we headed back home and listened to one of our all time favourite Korean band, Big Bang. Belle had the best speakers, so we used her ipod for the beat, and grooved to the awesome tunes that blasted without hesitation. We also learnt from Cass the Wonder Girls- Tell Me routine... oh... the hilarity. TOO MUCH!

Anyway, much randomness later, we accompanied Cass home and did some tarot reading at her place. FUN. That's all I can say... the whole day was just too much fun! Total blast.

At night, we headed back to Belle's, and I had a fabulous dinner feast with her family. YUM. Ate so much (today as well, damn that weight piling on *cries*)... but we walked it off a tiny bit by going to Thornlie to check out a street listed for awesome Christmas lights decorations. One house might have been in a competition even. It was SO MIND BLOWING! I've never seen an entire street so religiously decorated (BAH, note the pun) and so harmonious that house owners all hang out outside to greet all of us visiting their front lawns! There was even a crowd... even though Perth is so small, and it was just too cool. The weather was slightly chilly too. BUT! Oh My God... never seen anything that awesome here before.

And... just to finish. Epic sayings that came out of today:

Belle: Should we go to Joondalup?
Hui: What? Should be make a tuna log?

Cass: Last Drop Brewery.

Hui: Huh? Lao Shi Wood Wig?

Belle: Be one with the earth!

Cass: Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg.
Wonderwoman lost her bra??!!??!

Bahaha... I love those 2 girls.

Merry Christmas!

*warf of baking modified banana bread drifts by...*
*sniffs hardly*
*satisfied anime face- the one with the eyes in one line and huge as grin*

TEEHEE.

MERRY XMAS EVERYONE!

First time I've been in Australia for Christmas... what a weird feeling. Luckily, Belle and Cass are here too! I was going to be alone tomorrow, being all sad at home, probably watching Bleach to comfort myself... but NO MORE! Wahaha... thanks for Belle and her awesome picnic idea, conjured with my TD. So excited!

I guess I've been affected by the hype. I've never celebrated Xmas before, and usually by this time I'm already with my family. This year, it's a big change. Everyone is having family Xmas lunch/dinners, many are Christians, so they actually celebrate it properly and all. I guess I feel left behind with no one to celebrate with... because my brother was invited to a lunch somewhere with his friends. *sigh* But it's all OK now... teehee. In Japan, it's more of a couples thing. BUT I HAVEN'T GOT A COUPLE THING TO GO TO EITHER... so I guess I was doubly sad.

BUT... my spinster club's to the rescue! BWAHAHA... Belle, Cass and I decided to form a spinster club, because at this rate we don't see ourselves ever getting married. Teehee... they plan to leach off me, because I plan to become rich and now they know I can cook... BUT... I will not allow that to happen! I must resist! Though their company is very enticing...

Teehee... what a weird post... I guess I'm just hyped about Xmas and being able to celebrate with my buddies! WEEEEE... wonder what random stuff we'll be up to tomorrow. Pictures to come! For now... here's the modified banana cake I baked for tomorrow's party... instead of just the batter, I added slivered almonds into the batter, then topped it off with fresh banana slices and shredded coconut... smells seriously delicious!

Ahhh... Xmas.

Last few days + 1st Xmas Partayy

Must reiterate, HOLIDAYS ARE SOOOOO AWESOME. The past few days have been nice... not so relaxing because I'm not sleeping much anymore. Staying up to watch Bleach. Sad, I know. SO addictive though... and I still haven't accomplished 1 Litre of Tears yet!!! Mega catch up time on movies/series missed! It's still on going... *evil laughs*

Anyway... I don't remember what day it was, but I was in the car with my bro... when I saw this:

Hard to see... but there are reindeer horns attached onto the windows!!!

Is that not the coolest thing ever!??! When I own a car, I'm so getting them. Though it's a waste of money. Oh, what we do for the novelty factor. Gah... I love it. Was walking to the bus stop when I noticed a neighbour from the street across had them too, so I sneakily took better close up shots. Teehee, they're so cute!!!

<3

And... now to the main point. I threw a Xmas party just yesterday night. I cooked for 4 hours, preparing about 9 dishes to entertain my guests. 2 entrees, 4 mains, 3 desserts. It was also to celebrate Grace's birthday, so the party was quite meaningful.

I decided to cook everyone a banquet to secretly thank them for being my awesome dancing buddies. I love them to bits. They've given me so much laughter, good times, love, support... it's unbelievable. Unfortunately not everyone made it last night- some are overseas, some were busy with other engagements, and some were not allowed (there are still many young ones underage!!! It's amazing how we all get along despite our age difference *sighs happily*). We still had a good time talking about really, really random things and learning some basic belly dancing moves from Grace. We also learnt a new word, Habibi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most pictures are on Facebook, so I'll just attach the pictures of the food I made. It was the first time that I've done a banquet... and I had such a great time cooking. Love it. You don't realize how tired you are during the whole experience... ... ... until the next day.

2 salads for entree...

Main 1- Vegetable quiche

Main 2- Salmon Pasta Bake

Main 3- Lamb Puffs that tasted like burger patties

Dessert 1 + 2- Coconut slices and fruit kebabs

Birthday girl Grace and I, fighting over the kebab and Rocky Road Mud Cake!

Awesome day out

Teehee... what an awesome day today was. Catching up with my little Tou Dai (disciple... Bwahahaha, quote from Bleach), Cass and I went around the city looking at random things, talking about random things, noticing random things...

Started with our meet up at Dymocks, which was an awesome start to the day. I found our suitable cheeses for cheese fondue. YES. Emmantal, brie and camembert. That's right! Boo yeah Baby! I have a fondue set that has yet been touched... so this is exciting news. On the other hand, Cass found the Grim Brothers' fairytales... so that was another plus to our day. How exciting!

And the adventures begin...

Some shopping, unsuccessful at first, but in the end turned out quite all right. I found the DIY Christmas card kit... though actually very dodgey now that I've opened it and started to work on a card for Yuuki. Oh well, as Cass says, "You're Hui, you'll be a'ight.", so let's hope it does roll like that. Thanks TD!

Some clothes shopping, bargains from Dotti. Oh, and Cookieman cookies to be mentioned. Brandy snaps and lemon and poppyseeds was it? Teehee, recommendations, never wrong. By the way, my macadamie delight was quite the most awesomest. My brother liked it too. Teehee. Awesome shop.

Supreme court gardens, here we came. Bum was wet, but the atmosphere was too good to miss. Found a random bottle of sweet chilli sauce just sitting at the park relaxing too. As if it was human. Life like.

Insane.

Also saw a guy with a girly bag... unfortunately couldn't take inconspicuous photo of him. Big sigh. Teehee... and of course, camwhoring cannot be forgotten.

What a day.

That little spark

Haven't blogged for a while... internet capped, so everything was going slowly. Even facebook. FACEBOOK. I nearly died. Now that the internet is getting better again (I think), I can post stuffs! It was been another great week... holidays are just ace. I have a few random pics to put up... so I'll keep the post shorter and share those photos that were taken throughout the week. My baking adventure is still going on (YES!) and I have been catching up on a lot of movies. Just recently saw PS I Love You, Superbad, Baby Mama... they were all quite all right, though Superbad got boring. Others were chick flicks... so thumbs up regardless! Muahaha... love chick flicks.

Another horror movie night took place at Mal's just last week (seems like a century ago now...) and we played some Jenga with her brother. Fun stuffs! Though the movie night turned out quite unscary... so that was really, utterly disappointing. I was quite scared of Dark Water though (Japanese horror)... and kept imagining water seeping through my roof *gulps*... creepy.

This is what we made of Jenga... actually, it was all Elmer... I only made the hair.

Little man made of Jenga blocks... ahhh.. maturity.

And... did anyone say baking? YES! Here it is, my newest yet another puff pastry creation, Cheeesy Berry Puffs! Recipe is off the net... I'm not creative like that. Sigh. It tasted quite good... forgot to add sugar... so the cheese was very cheesy and not too sweet. A good turn out actually!

Unfinished product... the cheesy baked base. On the left is modified with added seeds.

Voila! Baked Cheesy Berry Puffs! Yummmmm...

Anyway... now finally relating to my post title, I received a Xmas card from my Japanese friend who is now studying in Canada. She's going back to Japan for Christmas, though she's been in Canada for about 6 months now. Her name is Yuuki. My little Jap friend, she's an awesome person who is very eager to learn English. She has studied abroad a lot of English speaking places... first was here, where we met, and then New Zealand last year, and now Canada. Amazing. I wished I was doing what she was doing... I'll be going to places that don't speak English! Japan! Korea! France! Spain! Oh My God... I can't wait to go traveling soon again.

Her card came as a surprise, and it just brightened up my day. I love it how little things like that really adds a lovely touch to anyone's day. I get so excited when I receive mail. Old fashioned, out dated etc... but it's still the best.
SO MUCH BETTER than receiving an email. Teehee. Ahhh... I feel really lucky to have friends like Yuuki... even though we don't have much contact due to distance, we still maintain a friendly, caring relationship. I feel that I'm probably not putting as much effort into it though... which saddens me. Now that it's holidays... I'll make it up. I received my special spark today... hope everyone else had too!

It's glittery!!! <3>

Yuuki's beautiful hand writing! It's SO NICE.

What a week

So the week started with me thinking that I might actually get a job this summer month. It's obviously not meant to be, as there has been no phone call. So... I guess it's destined that I should really take a serious break with no commitments (other than dancing!!! WOOO!) and stress... and just seriously chill for once during this stressful year. Money mountain turning into a mere speed bump? Well... I'll worry about that later... holidays are too good to waste.

Monday was the day of firsts:
  • Meeting up with Bec and Jane together for the first time in a year!
  • Having Nandos for the first time in my 19 nearly 20 years worth of life!
  • Seeing the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter making a smiley face in the sky!
  • Meeting up with friends at Ching's birthday BBQ properly for the 1st time this year!
Tuesday was the day of songs: Karaoke!!! Had such a good time fooling around with my mates... too good!

Wednesday was... a complete blank, Dave would know.

Thursday was the day I got high blood pressure:
Started with a relatively good day... though I found out I can't wear contacts because my short sightedness does not accompany my astigmatism well. Epic fail. Found some interesting reads at the library, dance was weird, then came Mal's get together. Oh My God. We watched The Grudge, Japanese version. Screams, high blood pressure, clutching Dave's foot, not being able to brush my teeth peacefully in the bathroom by myself were just the start. Oh My God. Anyhow... everything resolved itself today, which was good. As long as I don't think about it. *gulp*

These holidays have also been the start of my baking adventures... as I had a massive craving to do this during exams. *sigh* ... Getting fatter and fatter because I'm making so much yummy food that are not necessarily healthy... but... they do taste good! XD Some pics here to share...

Banana muffins! Made from scratch for the first time in my life! XD

Apple Galettes... yuuuuummmmmmmm

Garlic and herb muffins... cheats way, from the packet =P

Boost Chocolate Mudcake. Didn't try it, but I heard it was orgasmiccccc =)

Orange and Poppyseed cake, without the icing yet. From the packet *blush*

Also coming home today from fixing up my piercing (sigh, it fell out and I couldn't put it back, had to go all the way to Freo to get it replaced, epic fail again), a little fella gave us a cute surprise...

Ahhh... I love holidays.

An Awesome 1st day of Dec

Today was simply... awesome.

Many first experiences today... I think today was definitely special. So many events, so many places, so many people, too much food... sigh... getting back on the fat track again. *gulps*

It started with my catch up sesh with Bec and Jane at Cottlesloe beach... the weather was sublime. Just so... clear. The water was a nice cool temperature... too bad that my piercings are healing and I couldn't get in the water too much. Big sigh to that. Otherwise, we chatted like old buddies, though we haven't seen each other as our little tight group for a year... it felt really good. Our genuineness, simplicity, just the pure friendship that binds us is incredible. I really, really appreciate it with all my heart. Love you girls. =)

Next stop was Ching's belated birthday party. Teehee... delayed for a month, it finally happened! It was at Synergy Park. Even though I only knew 1 or 2 people well... I still enjoyed myself a lot. A good catch up session with those people that I knew... again, the first time in about a year. The feeling of being able to talk freely with my friends, with no stress or worries, just simple concern for their lives mean so much to me. I wish I could do it more during the semester... highly unlikely, especially with the added disadvantage of not being able to drive. *cries*

After a hot and eventful day, I made a date with my brother to have Nandos for dinner- my first Nandos experience in my life. Also because Du was working tonight, he said he could serve me because Mondays are quiet. Teehee. Another good short chat with him... ahhh... miss this buddy too. It was a really good experience, being served by an awesome friend; the extra hot peri-peri flavour was legendary; nice chips; satisfaction! Afterwards we went for Baskin Robbins ice cream... tried another 2 more flavours. Only about 10 more to go before I conquer the try-every-flavour quest! =D

On the way home... saw the sky smiling. It was actually the Moon, Saturn and Venus being seen at one scene. Amazing. Splendid. Rare. Indescribably epic.

What a day... and now it's series time! I LOVE holidays.
